Annika’s First Day
Today was Annika’s First day as a first grader - she’s growing up so fast!!! Took a couple of quick snaps before taking her to the bus… hope she’s doing well…

It was pretty cool to be able to go to the Nest on the last night of the competitions - it didn’t hurt that we got to see USA win two golds either!

I went the USA vs Spain & Korea vs Belarus Women’s Basketball games tonight and had a blast. Men’s tickets are nearly impossible to get so I was thankful enough to be able to go to these games tonight. We did get to see some of the men’s team members sitting there and supporting the girls’ team and that was pretty exciting as well!
In front of the new basketball stadium:
Singing the national anthem - GO USA!!!
Danny, Sung, & TK!
Let’s see… Kobe, Jason Kidd, Lebron James, I think Michael Redd(or is it Chris Paul?), and Dwyane Wade… Carlos Boozer was there too but not in this shot…
GO USA!!!

I don’t know how the two sisters can be so different but they are and I love them for it. I have absolutely no idea what our third will be like either but if the first two are of any indication then I’m in trouble!!!

We had a great time with our friends (thanks Connie & Jane for coming!) visiting from the States but it was just as good to have some family time to spend the day together as things will pick up again beginning next week. We haven’t taken them anywhere this summer and I’ve been so busy with some things that I was starting to feel real bad about not doing anything with the girls - and they begin kindergarten & school again next week!
So after our visit to the hospital for Grace, we took the kids to a local aquarium - not to be confused with the much newer and larger Beijing Aquarium - called the Blue Zoo. It was built in 1997 but to our suprise, it was pretty nice in there with a giant coral tank with a large community of fish peacefully swimming around. Best of all, it wasn’t crowded at all!

One thing I admire most about Grace is that she’s always willing to read whatever book the kids bring for her to read to them. Me, on the other hand, well, let’s just say that the kids probably think their dad is most likely illiterate…

Annika: Daddy, I want a mouse.
Me: Are you nuts?
Kaelyn: I don’t like nuts.
